Maria Callapez is 26 years old and holds a Master‘s degree in Communication Design from the
Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon, having completed her degree on February 20, 2024, with a grade of 17 out of 20. Her dissertation, entitled “ARQUIVO MDC: an exploration
of the online digital archive for representing academic production in Communication Design”, addressed the specificities of computational digital archives and online access, focusing on interactive visualization and exploration, applied to the academic production of the Master‘s in
Communication Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon. Previously, she
earned a Bachelor‘s degree in Plastic Arts-Multimedia from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University
of Porto, on July 31, 2020, with a grade of 16 out of 20, which she complemented with
the Full Stack Development course at EDIT. - Disruptive Digital Education (2023-2024), specializing in programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Node
JS, as an investment in production skills that enable her to implement design projects.
As complementary training, in 2019, she attended the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (Milan).
She was a student at the David Sousa Music Conservatory (Figueira da Foz) from 2004 to 2015. Her academic and educational background is complemented by active involvement in
cultural, artistic, and design production. She is the author of the web design productions for
Aleste Festival (2023) and Meta-Archive (2021), and the musical productions What Remains,
Leave No Stone Unturned, Nebula, IX, Underwater Dreams, Immersed, I’m like the ocean, Float
System, Space Night, Closed Mind, Réflexes de sentiments, Tears of Love, Earth, and Improviso
à chuva I, as well as live sets presented at the LISB-ON #Jardim Sonoro festival (2022),
Festival Elétrico (2022), and Spectrum Festival (2020), and at cultural venues such as Jardim
Museu de Lisboa (2021) and Galeria Zé dos Bois (2020).
