Maria Callapez is 26 years old and holds a Master‘s degree in Communication Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon, having completed her degree on February 20, 2024, with a grade of 17 out of 20. Her dissertation, entitled “ARQUIVO MDC: an exploration of the online digital archive for representing academic production in Communication Design”, addressed the specificities of computational digital archives and online access, focusing on interactive visualization and exploration, applied to the academic production of the Master‘s in Communication Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon.

Music Stairs

Music Stairs evokes a relationship between space, work and spectator. The observer becomes active in the work. In fact, when you go up each step, your movement makes the irons move, composing your own music.

The shades of each iron changed with the diameter and length of each object.

Music Stairs was an installation designed for the exhibition Artistic Residency in the space of Casa da Prelada.
