Maria Callapez is 26 years old and holds a Master‘s degree in Communication Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon, having completed her degree on February 20, 2024, with a grade of 17 out of 20. Her dissertation, entitled “ARQUIVO MDC: an exploration of the online digital archive for representing academic production in Communication Design”, addressed the specificities of computational digital archives and online access, focusing on interactive visualization and exploration, applied to the academic production of the Master‘s in Communication Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon.

Mar Coberto is an installation that seeks to generate a feeling of stability and comfort for the viewer. The space is constituted primarily with recycled plastic, very thin and light, that is normally used as a protective cover for objects in construction areas.

The plastic starts moving like a wave, creating rhythm and a specific sound, due to the force of a heater and a fan.

The floor is covered with bubble wrap, which allows the viewer to be part of the musical score.

This installation is also followed by music that complements the specifics sounds that are produced by the people and the materials.
